So this is a new series of blog posts called ‘Meet the Leader’. Welcome to the first one 🙂
Let’s start with me, Cloudy, the main unit leader 🙂
So, I’m Cloudy (Vicky); I’ve been involved with Girlguiding since I was five when I joined Rainbows. So I’ve been a member for the last 23 years, and I’ve had so much fun!!
I went through Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in Barnehurst before becoming a Young Leader and then Leader.
I volunteer as a leader because of all the awesome opportunities I have had growing up. I’ve been on countless international trips, marshalled lots of important events and most importantly seen many girls grow into incredible young women!!
I took over the leadership of 4th North Heath in 2013 as the leader was moving away, and I’ve loved every minute of being the leader. I mean who wouldn’t I get to take part in lots of activities and earn badges too!! 🙂

As well as running the Rainbow unit I also volunteer to run a Rainbow unit and Guide unit on a Friday evening. I’m also a leader at my original Rainbows on a Wednesday and in my spare time, I’m employed as a learning and development lead to help volunteers to use online systems.
I’m currently fundraising to attend the World Scout Jamboree in North America as the Girlguiding lead where I’ll be responsible for the 150(ish) members who are attending; there’s going to be lots of opportunities for the girls to get involved too as I have over £2000 left to raise and I want to share the excitement of international opportunities too so there’ll definitely be a badge involved.
